Mr Jennings is urging- the Government to give effect to the recommendation of the Public Petitions Committee, both last session and the previous one, that} consideration I be given to Mrs Kmily Brown' by way of a compassionate allowance, on i account of the distinguished public services! rendered by her late husband, Major / Brown, formerly Superintendent of Taranaki. Mr Symes has given notice to ask the Minister of Mines, if he will, at an early date, arrange for the Government Geologist to visit Patea for the purpose of examining and reporting on certain mineral or other deposits in the district, in accordance with a request from the local Chamber of Commerce.
