COASTAL NEWS.
(From a Correspondent.)
The, farewell service^ "n coirjcct'on with/ Key. Mr Turnbull's mission as minister of thq coast havo been o. decided success,, which, shows howmuch Mr Turnbull was liked from one end of the district to the other. On Monday evening the final meeting was held in the Okato, Church. The church was full, Tataraimaka, Puniho, and Raliotu being strong in evidence. A really good programme was put on which Wiis, greatly appreciated. Several also addressed the meeting, aad but for onu sarcastic- gentleman who^c remarks were not complimentary cither 4to tlic minister going away or to the one . taking up the work, and t"b many, marred the harmony of the evening. I am sony to say q,ui(e a contingent of the Okato residents arc in the .New Plymouth Hospital. They have the sympathy of the public of thi.s district.
Much dissatisfaction is felt here re the school summonsing cases. Some «tatf ihoA th'-y have been sommoned for jn->f one al tendance short during the fjiiarler which J think , must be '.m one.
