Osi Saturday last -two rinks fiidni tho 1 Fitzroy Bowling- Club journeyed to Stratford, and suffered defeat at the hands of that club by 16 points. Messrs Osmond, Curtis, Dingle, and Hcaly (skijp), and Jackson, - Morrison (2), and Smart (skip) represented StratS ford; while Messrs Cliff, Griffiths, Hill, | and Bumside (skip), and, Jones, Gray, Steele and Dempsey, (skip) did duty for Fitzroy. This- was the first time, the majority of the junior club had played on a good green, and, taking this info consideration, " they did very »weli. Although beaten, they were not disgraced, and they had worthy opponents against thepi, jmem who wero never far from the' jack 1 . The visitors were veryf 1 pleased with their reception - and treatment by the Stratford Club, and hope some time in the neat' future to be able to return the compliment. ' On the "New Plymouth green the lino weather has enabled play to be , indulged in for 42 days without a break (barring holidays) . v
