THE EXHIBITION DIFFICULTY.
Td the Editor.
I Sir,— The public at largo aro indebtjpd to the Committee; and guarantors 'of tho Exhibition and Carnival for a [considerable amount of pleas" ye, and naturally ihey continue to take a deep interest in the happenings, ol which more or less exaggerated reports are current. I venture to that curiosity would loc gi-at,iliod " tend a substantial sum i*aised for tnc ljenefii& of tho guarantors if thp public v.ere permitted to be present at the wash-ing-up meeting-, which is pnid to boabout to take place. My idea ;s that tho theatre should be secured, and the Sjuarantors arranged on one side the stage, the Comnutteemen on the other, and the President and Chairman in between, discussion being restricted to these interested gentlemen. TlTien the auditorium could be filled hy the public, who would gladly pjiy, say, Ss for reserved front seats and 2s fov the body of the building. The theatre proprietary did so well out .of the Committee that"! am sure tho nso of the building for this on«i night would bo freely given. There is a good £100 in this suggestion, Mr Editor, as the gathering would need no advertising. — lam, &c,
