Bush Fires.
Per Press Association. Auckland, March 17. The Waikeikei district is being devastated by -disastrous fires, and hundreds of acres of much needed feed and standing bush have been swept. Some settlers had practically all their feed burned, arid there are the gloomiest prospects ahead. No feed means no milk, and in consequence of the fire and drought combined the local factory may have xo close down. SetI tiers have been fighting day and night ito keep the fire in check, and as there is no pros'] u 'tt of rain their task seems hopeless.
