Tho Coroner said that after viewing the body it would be necessary to adjourn the inquest in order to obtain the evidence, of material witnesses engaged in the railway service. He believed that medical evidence would be forthcoming to indicate that died from - a broken neck, - which he must have received by colliding with part of the engine. After viewing the body the followingformal evidence was taken :—: — Samuel Hill, Government Valuator for Taranaki., deposed that the deceased's name was Cecil Wallace Cro"ker, aged 25 years. He had known him from childhood. The inquest was then adjourned till 2 o'clock on Friday at the Courthouse. Dr. Home was callec: in to examine the body of deceased, and it is understood that the doctor found that dacease'd's neck was broken.
