After giving a hearing to local deputations the Premier, accompanied by a large number of people, visited the Seitdouiille State mine, receiving a neatly weicon.o' and good wishes for his health from residents of the se\eral townships vivited en route. Tho deputation received the announcement with satisfaction. On his return to town the Premier was entertained at a largely attended public gathering in the Princess Theatre. In tiie eour.-e of a speech Mr Seddou referred to the injustice done to the colonies by live Imperial Government in not preserving, after repeated warnings, the islands of the L'acific for the British Empire, and stated that he had made representations in the hope that tho New llobrides would not pass into foreign hands. Ho is sailing- to-night for New Plymouth.
