At the conclusion of this match Dr Lftatham, president of the N.P. Tennis Club, in a few words, thanked all those who had taken part in the tournament, and also tl.o WaVerley players who had attended in such large numbers, and helped to I make the meeting the success it was. They had all admired the .' plendid j display made by Miss Powdr-jll. The 'interest in the meeting had iicen considerably increased by the. attendance of Miss Niumcley and Mr Parker. The latter's play was not only interesting but instructive. The great progiess tennis had made in Taranaki was largely due to suoh meetings as these.
