Ex-Judge Conolly is recommended by the Government for inclusion amono those entitled to the privilege of the title of Honorable. Mr Gervase Roughton, who arrived at Nelson in the ship Clifford in 1842. died at Spring Grove, Nelson a few days ago, aged 76. Mr L. Hill, who has been connected with tho local Land Transfer, Deods. and Stamps Office, for three years, will shortly leave lor Hunterville, where he has received an appointment in the, office of Mr Moldrum, solicitor. MiHill will be missed in football circles. On Wednesday night some 50 friends of Mrs W. Courtney (who, with Mr Courtney, is leaving shortly to take up her residence in Tauranga) assembled and presented her with a silver cream jug, and silver-mounted purs-'e and card case combined, as a toke>of the esteem in which she is held here. Mr R. \j. Mestayer. the Engineer for tho Borough loan works, will lie present, at the special .meeting of the Borough Council to-niffht.
