— » DRIVING HOESES LOOSE. Mr E. L. Stanford, S.W., presided in the Police Court this (Monday) morning 1 , when charges of breaches of Borough, by-laws were called on. Joseph, Irving, Patrick McGehan, and Leslie Jury, employed at local livery stable's, were charged, on* the information of Mr F. Stohr, Borough Inspector, with a breach of Borough by-laws, by driving horses loose through the Borough. Mr Quilliam (Govett and Quilliam) appeared for the Borough ; and Mr Malone (Malone; McVeagh, and Anderson) for the defendants. As the summonses were only served on Saturday counsel agreed that the cases should be adjourned till Wednesday at 10.30, in order to allow the defendants' solicitor to look into the matter. The Court granted the adjournment accordingly. TOO MUCH STIMULANT. Robert Horn, who did not appear, was fined 5/, and costs 2/ on a charge of being drunk in 'Gover-street on March 26th. A charge of using obscene language was also preferred' against him. His Worship said that his attention had been drawn to a case in which it was laid down that a man should not be charged with two criminal offences at the same time. Sergeant Haddrell stated that he had decided to summons Horn on the second charge, as the man had been released on bail, and did not know that the obscene language was to be charged against him. Hid Worship said the course would meet the case. The Court rose.
