London, January 23. The Government has agreed to postpone the issue of the first ten millions of the Transvaal war contribution loan.
Received January 25, 9 am. Melbourne, January 25. The Trades Hall Council has adopted a resolution expressing alarm and indignation at the proposed "introduction of Chinese into the Transvaal. Cape Town, January 24. Forty-five thousand on hunderd adult white males signed the Transvaal Importation Association's referendum * petition in favour of Asiatic labour. Since fifteen thousand Government employees were not permitted to sign the petition, the signatures equal seventy per cent of the population.
