AUCTION REPORT.
I Cattle.— At Stratford on Tuesday I there was a good muster of stock. Bidding was "fairly 'brisk' for young cattle, but grown classes w^« rot so well enquired for. Calves to yearlings made 35s to 455, good yearlings 48s to 555, 18 months steers £3 18s to &>o 10s, empty heifers £3 7s to £3 18s 6d, 2 to 2| year steers A"4 5s to a- 20s 6d 2£ to 3 year steers £4 10s, store cows £3 10s to £3 16s, forward cows £4to £4 10s, fat cows £5 7s 6d,. springing heifers £4 10s to £7 2s **. At Eahptu on Thursday there was a smaller yarding of stock than for some time past. Young cattle were well competed for and nearly all sold either at the hammer or privately, not so saleable and made lower Store cows and springing hbifers were values. Yearlings made 41s to 575, 15 to IS months heifers £3 11s 6d, Jersey-Holstein heifers £4 _s, store cows £3 19s to £4 10s, springing heifers £5 5s to £6i
