Messrs R«nay»e (General Manager of Railways), C o om (Chief Engineer of Railways), Beattie (Chief Mechanical Engineer), Gore (Chief Traffic Ma-na-o-er), McJ^tosJx (District Engineer), and Whitcombe (District Tramc Manager), arrived on Monday aight to make their annual inspection of the railway! On Tuesday morning tliey went out to the breakwater, after Inspecting- ihe local line, and in the afternoon proceeded to Waitara. The Premier arrived from. Auckland by the Takapuna on Tuesday morning and proceeded south by the express. Mr Tom Mandeno Jackson, the New Zealand 'tenor, who has been, at Home for several years past, arrived back in Auckland by the Sonoma on Monday pight, on a visit to his r«la<iv«s. Mr J. Little," of Sentry Hill, is somewhat seriously ill and was brought in to a private hospital in town on Monday. His many friends will wish hini a speedy recovery.
