The sitting room to the left near the entrauce is I set aside for .the use of the proprietor, j it being lfixiSft. On the right oi the passage is a commodious and lofty dining- room, the' doors to which are hurig on patent hinges'. This room is (50x26ft., and is handsomely decorated and splendidly lighted. The room contains a ticket office, which is fitted with a slide and other conveniences. At the end. of the dining hall is a pantry ,- fitted- with a sink; and hot and cold water connections. The conveniences between the dining and kitchen are in fact arranged in the most modern scale, and " will ensure quick des-. patch in the serving of customers. The kitchen is 32x14/ with a 14ft. stud, and is fitted with a range eleven feet long specially made to .the order of Mr G. Hale. This range contains three large ovens, a hot compartment, and a large grill ; and hot water is also provided. The rest of the kitchen is also well fitted with all the other mefdern conveniences. A hot water service is also installed in all parts of the building, both up and down stairs. Other rooms .on the lower floor are lavatories for ladies and s gpntlemen, foxir sitting rooms and four bedrooms. The upper story is reached by means of a handsome staircase," which conducts* the visitor "to a spacious '* landing' "and hall,, the decoration and lighting of' which have been specially designed and executed. , There are a writing room downstairs, and two sitting looms, and some '24 bedrooms on the top floor, which: are all well finished. Special attention has been paid to the fire escapes. Mr C. J. Bolstad, of Stratford , and New Plymouth, the architect, has^ furnished the town with a building of good design and arrangement, and' he must be congratulated on the result of his work. Cotter and Co., the builders, have carried out theircontract faithfully and we'll. Mr G. Gilbert did the painting^ etc., and the greater part of the decorative work. The subcontractors for the brickwork and plumbing have done tfieir .work satisfactorily. Frederick aiu^'McMillan executed . the plumbing, and Mr Sinclair the brickwork. The- Trocadero-is a credit to the town and the proprietors" should find it a profitable investment.
