The Victoria Maori Girls: School.
A good deal of , interest has beejn shewn by those interested in the Maori race throughout the colony in the establishment of the Victoria i Maori Girls School. On thft 2nd arid 3rd of July residents of New Plymoui3i j and surrounding districts ,will have anopportunity of showing in a practical : manner their interest also in the good j work now carried on at that school. j bazaar on a large scale is being worjc- j erl up by a committee of influential \ ladies of 'the district. The Drill Hall has been secured for. the two days. In j addition to the usual attractions of $a j well organized bazaar, there are to be some unique Maori- items. The Re^r. F. Bennett is going to a good deal bf troubleand expense- to make the Maori items exceedingly interesting and axifractive'. A number of Maoris are coming from .Wanganui, and some of i the Native students froni Te Aule j College are coming with them. • • A special platform is being put lip and on . the platform ar,e being ' erected two or three Maori "whares." On tfie dates mentioned a number of t£e interesting phases of Maori life and customs will be pourtrayed during the afternoon and evening. ' }
