Cattle, Sheep, etc.— Messrs Buckland and Sous - report :— -At Pake-no on Monday a moderate mjuster of stock sold at late values. Cows at profit made up to £7 10/; fat to £6 10/ ; dry £3 15/; strong calfres 30/ to 40/. The Rimciman yards on Wednesday were welt iilled with stock of all classes. Dairy cows aoM to £10 ; dry £2 10/ to £4; fat to £7 12/; 3 year old steers to £6 10/; 18 months to 2 year old £3 1/ to £5 4/; yearlings £2 7/6, .strong calves 23/ to 40/. There was an average muster of stock at Remuora on Thursday, which soM freely throughout. Dairy cows were required and prices for those at profit ranged from £7 to £12 ; store cattle at late values fat and young calves were better worth; small from 5/ to 9/ medium 14/ to 20/; heavy up to 55/ (44 sold). The beef pen« were well fi'liefcl with cattle of good quality, mbsttly light weights. Last week's values were fully maintained, but in some cases extra choice cattle were better. Steers ranged from £7 12/6 to £14 7/6; cows £4 10/ to £7 16/ (230 sold). Ok beef sold xap to 27/ the 100 lt>, cows to 23/. A draft of 20 vory choice steers from Mr Wm, Sandy's farm at Waitflrti averaged £12 8/ each. Sheep we're in usiual numbers and me'fc a ready sale. Horses. — Have been- brought, forward in increased numbers, and a good dpmand prevails at prices in favour of the vendor. There was a large entry at the Durham yards, on Friday, and competition was good. Heavy draughts boM from £28 to £30 10/, medium do. £21 10/ to £31, light

harness horses £S 17/6 to £17 10/, hacks £5 10/ to £22 ; a sulky realised £10 10/, spring cart £12. Cattle. — At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday fat stock were penned in large numbers and met good competition. Ox beef made from 22/ to 27/, and cow from 20/ to 23/ per 100 IJjs, fat steers sold from £(i 10/ to £12 10/, fat cows £5 5/ to £7 12/6. Dairy cows were yarded in large numbers and sold well from £5 to £10 10/, empty cows £2 15/ to £4 7/, calves £1 15/ to £2 9/. Sheep. — The Newmarket yards were well filled on Tuesday, and prices advanced, fat wethers selling from 11/G to 18/9, fat ewes 8/6 to 15/9, hoggets 7/0 to 13/9. Pigs. — Scarce. Porkers sold from £1 7/ to £2 13/, weaners 12/6 to 19/6. , At the Pukekohe yards on- Wednesday there Avas a large muster for the time of the year, ami everything" almost without exception changed hands under the hammer. Dairy cows sold from £5 10/ to £10 10/, empty cows £2 17/ to £4 2/, calves £l 13/ to £2 «V> grown steers £6 to £7 7/6, fat steers £9 17/6, fat cows £5 5/ to £6 17/6. On Saturday we held a clearing sale of live and dead' stock on account of Mr E. Morgan, Papakura Valley. There was a large attendance, and good prices were realised. The cows sold up to £9, ewes in lamb 13/, hoggets S/9, farm horses up to £27, and seed drill at £22. At the sale held at Mr Hoye's, i Cioveden, on Monday, the attendance was extra large and competition spirited throughout. Cows to valve in , the spring sold from £5 10/ to jQ9 10/ I fat Vows £6 10/, calves £2 2/ to £3 5/, farm horses up to £33, waggon £20 10/. Hides. --Market easier by £d per lb. We sold prime stout ox 7£d to B£d, stout do. 6£d to 7d, medium do. oi-d to 6d, light do. 5d to s.}d, cow 4£d to 4£d, kip 3id to Ud, calf sound 3Jd to -lid. stags to 3£ per lb. Sheepskins. — At about same rates. Large salted 2/9 to 3/3, small and medium 1/9 to 2/6, dry 3d to 6d less. Wool. — Selling freely at late rates, with an upward tendency for well grown liut'B. - Tallow.— Best rendered 22/ to 23/9, fat to ]fd per lb. Tails. — 1/5 per doz. Bones — 4/6 per ewt. Mai/e. — Owing to the heavy supplies and the damp condition in which the maize is coming to hand, the market has fallen to 3/9 on the wharf A fair quantity was unsold after all buyers were fully supplied. Oats, Wheat.— No alteration to report. Chafr.— The market is firm for both Southern and local at £5 5/ and £4 10/ respectively. Potatoes. — Local and Southern are both dull of sale ; present rates £3 10/ and £4 5/ per ton ex store. Dairy Produce.— Butter. Supplies of separator and dairy falling off. Everything to hand is soiling readily up to 9£d per lb for good quality. Cheese.— There is better inquiry as the j season advances, and prices are likely to advance locally.
