Ploh've, Minister of the .'nterior, has given ihe Bessarebyei^, an antiSemitic organ at Kiahineff, a subsidy of twenty-five thousand ro\Vbles. The following 1 account of the origin of the Kishineff troubled was sent to the London Times of May 2nd by a correspondent at TCieff :—lt: — It seems now to be established beyond doubt that the affrays of April :9th and 20th in the streets of Kisfliinefr, in Bessaiabia, were the result of- a suJpposed . "ritual murder" by the Jews of Dubossari. According to the account which, has,iusl> reached me, ,'anti- Jewish feeling has been r.unning very Mgh in Bessarabia, and portions' of other Governments in South liuT-iia for some time past; and JQubossari ccntains a considerable. Jewissh ' element. ■ The Jewish Easter this year commenced on; AprH . 12th. A few days before tlhis date the son of a Eiuasian mysteriously disappeared,, and a rumour gained currency that he had been oone to 'death by tie J,ews, for HJie sake of his blood. After several days' diligent search, his bojdy was discovered. Popular ' hatred against tihe local Jews had meantime been thoroughly aroused. The police in> vain attempted to allay Russian suspicion of Jewish fojil play by declaring that the body had been discovered without any sign of an open wound having been inflicted, and in order to con., vince the public an official post mortem examination was decided upon without delay. Three doctors were thereupon despatched , from Odessa for the purpose, of examining the body in--dGSpendently. The body, was fexkum^y, aiid the former verdict, that there had been absolutely no loss of blood, was confirmed I .
