The ' first round for the President's, prizes wgs played yesterday. Owing -to the weather the entries were small four ladies entering'<and nine men. 'The following are ,the results :—: — t ,W. L. Fitzherbert and Miss Deacon, 71, 10, 61'; E. Griffiths and Mrs Edmunds, 68, 10, 58 ; J. S. Medley and Miss St.aridish, 66, 3, 63 ; — Basham and Miss Eeade, 76, scr, 76. The first two play off, the winners to play in the final rounds. > To-inoirow a Men's Bogey Handicap of 9 holes will be played. \* [ ' The medal presented by Mrs Edmunds to be played for every mouth by the lady members is a handsome one, and was- presented yesterday to Miss Standish, who holds it for thp month. , - ,•, • ,
