The report states that General Botha burnt ancf raided, the kraals of the Chief Sekobobos/ John Potgieter, : one of thfi Boer leaders, . burnt thi;ee natives alive and Bent a. mesrage to. Sekobbbolo Baying that th« Boers had driven the Zulus' ' 'wiva*' and . children to Vryhcid and taken their cattle, fltigmatiHirtg th« Zulus as only "fowl lice" and challenging them, to retake the cattle. The Zulus 'accepted the challenge and attacked Potgieter?* fore*. Fiftysix Boer* were killed and th« cattle were, recaptured. Fifty-six Zulus were killed and forty-eight wounded.
