Dividends will be paid upon the first and second horse in the proportion of 75 per cent, to the first and 26 per cent, to the second horse subject to the following exceptions :—: — In the event of four or less starters, the property of different owners, the dividend will be declared on the first horse only. In tho event of horses the property of one owner and being coupled on the machine, running first or second or dead heat for first place, the dividend will be declared on the coupled horses only. In the event of coupled horses finishing first and dead heat for second place with another horse, the dividend will be declared in the proportion of 87£ per cent, to the coupled horses and 12£ per cent, to the other horse. RULES AND REGULATIONS. In all cases were penalties ' have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer, or jockey to notify the same to the Secretary. Stakes paid in full. Owners are reminaed that the liame or assumed name of the owner or owners must ba given in every .entry. Definition of a Hack— A hack means a horse tbat has never won at time of nomination, a race of the value ot 80sovs, or over, or races of the collective value of 200sovs, since August the Ist, 1899. All nominations must include description, age, pedigree, colours of rider, and name of owner ; horses in all cases to carry the said colours, and also numbered saddle-cloth provided by the Club. Ail nominations with the necessary amount in cash, must be in the hands of the Secretary at advertised time ; post marks will not be recognised on any pretext whatever. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Racing. No entry will be received for any race except on the distinct condition that any and all claims, disputes and objections which may arise in connection with the racing shall be settled by the Stewards or who they ma" appoint ; such decision to be final. Horses walking over shjall only receive 50 p*f pent, of the Stakes. The CoEt'inittee reserve the right of postponing the date of meeting, nominations and acceptances, also weights, should they deem fit to do so. The Secretary will receive money for investment on the totalisator up to 5 p.m. on the day previous to the races.
