Cooper and MacDermott's Kinematograph Company.
The above Company appear to be well j sustaining their reputation, and have just completed a tour of the principal places along the coast and round the mountain. Reporting on thdir Easter Monday entertainment in Auckland the N.Z. Herald says :— " A very large audience was present at the Federal Hall last night to witness Messrs Cooper and Macdermotfc's scenic concert. So well known are these caterers for the amusement-seeking public for their genuine and interesting pro grammes that it is scarcely nocessarv to extol last night's entertainment. That it was good and that it was thoroughly enjoyed goes without saying. By the aid i of new and specially imported machinery the kineraatograph used was made to j throw on the screen pictures of much ■ larger size than usual, and this fact, combined with skilful manipulation, a good light and a minimum of flicker, enabled each view to be clearly seen, even down to details, thus enhancing the general effect. Amongst the pictures thrown upon the screen was a splendid film depicting the King in the act of presenting medals to heroes of the war. This was much lik?d, as was another entirely new one, entitled the Magic "word, a very long film, comprising quite a pantomime in itself. There was a capital volunteer striea, a set dealing with the ftoyal visit to the colonies and introducing Rotorua scenes, pictures _of the Queen's funeral and incideuts in her life, anJ representations of scenes at the Paris Exhibition, besides numerous war pictures. The miscellaneous views included several of a comic nature." The programme to be submitted next Monday in the Whiteley I Hall will be a most interesting one.
