RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. A "Hack" means a horse that has, at time of nomination, never won a race of the value of 80sovs, or races of the collective value of 150sovs since Ist August, 1899, and 'has never won an advertised race exceeding 40sovs (hack and hunter races excepted). 2. The winner of any flat race after declaration of weight to carry a penalty of 7lbs, and of every additional race slbs extra in all handicap flat events. 3. Entries by telegrams must give full particulars «of the horse, and must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. 4. Owners, trainers, and others entering and accepting horses for this meeting are notified that no entries or acceptance will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. . 5. No entry will be received for any. race, except on this condition : That all disputes, claims, and ob1 jections arising out of the * racing , shall be decided by a majority of the (stewards and their decision shall be final. 6. The stewards reserve the right to alter the time or date for declaration of weights, nominations, or acceptance, j 7. The handicapper may, if he i thinks fit, re-handicap the winner of j any race after declaration of weights All races to be run under " The New Zealand Rules of Racing." * Stakes paid in full. DIVIDENDS'. Totalisator dividends in tho proportion of 75 per cent, to the first horse, and 23 per cent, to the second horse, ,will be paid in all races where five oi* more horses, the property of different owners' start. In the event of horses the property of one owner (being coupled on the totalisator) running first or second, or dead heat for first place, the dividends will ,bo declared on the coupled horses only. In the event of coupled horses finishing first and dead' heat for second place with another horse, the dividends will be declared in the proportion of, 80 per cent, on the coupled horses and 20 per cent, for the other, r Bookmakers, their clerks or agents will not be admitted to the racecourse or enclosure, and any person laying totalisator odds will be prosecuted..
