THE WELLINGTON TOURNAMENT THE FINAL FOR THE BANNER.(Per Press Association). Wellington, January 2.7. — At the bowling tournament, great interest was taken in the final for the championship banner, which resulted as follows :— 'Victoria : Gooder's rink, 22 ; Palmerston : Bunting's rink, 1<5;: Victoria :■ Bmckcnridge's rink 22i ; Palmerston : " Mowlem's rink, 20 ; totals : Victoria 44, Palmerston 36. Victoria therefore wou by eight points. The tie 'now existing between Palmerston and Wellington for sedond place will bo played tomorrow. , - Victorian is a Wellington Club. A gaino for the Hrfddart Parker Cup was played to-day, Gisborne beating Bluff Hill by SI to 15. In the third round for tho Commercial Cluib trophy, winning teams were skipped by Mowlom, Newell, Perrett Bunting, Littler, and Saywell. The Free Lance referring to tho New Plymouth playei's at the tournament at Wellington says :— New Plymouth boasts of the Apostle Paul, and he is a host in himself. There is no bigotry about bowls up at New Plymouth. That is why Prohibitionist Ward plays as. third man for Paul, the papular bowler..
