At the Chamber of Commerce dinner, the toast of " King Edward '" was drunk with enthusiasm, " God Save the King " being ployed. Mr Choate, United States Ambassador in London, and was so spohtantide of sympathy in England for America. This, especially in regard to the address of condolence on the death of the late President McKinley, which Was signed by every notable, merchant, banker, and trader in London, and was soon spontanous an action, led the authorities at Washington to' interpret it as a national demonstration of friendship. President Roosevelt, in a message td Odngfress, reco'minends the re^enactment and strengthening of the Chinese Exclusion Act. THE SUSPICIOUS CARGO. ; London,- November 21. The detained steamer is the liau Righ, a vessel of 1000 tons, purchased ostensibly for the fruit trade. Hisr crew numbers 42 men.
