CITIZEN VERSUS FRIENDLY SOCIETY.
(To tjM Editor.) Sir r— What a pity New Plymouth, should always De divided against itself. Last year the picnic organised at the Breakwater for New Year's Day was voted a big success, and it was fondly hoped that we would all unite to make it an annual ibcture, which should advertise, for the bemfit of all, the capabilities of Ne v Plymouth as a ses-side resort, whito also giving a good opportunity for a reunion of town and country. I war<t just now to call the attention of your readers to the fact that we ■ have now proposed two picnics each detracting from the other, and to « ask if our Friendly Societies would , not be better advised to aid in the Breakwater one on New Year's Day, holding their own later. — jl am, &c., , A CITIZEN FIRST. ...
