A FOOTBALL.
TARANAKI RUGBY UNIOS. A meeting of tho Management Committefi was held at the County Hotel, Stratford, on Monday night. Present: Messrs Kivell (Stratford', Buchanan (Waitara), Adamson (Hawera), Nuttall (Eltham), Bellringer (New Plymouth^, and Tatton (secretary). In the absence of the President, Mr Kivell was voted to the chair. Tho protest, Tukapa 111 v. Star IIL, was dismissed, and the protest fee was forfeited. The Eltham-Kaponga Junior match was ordered to be played again at the end of the season, on a date to be fixed. Hawera B (Juniors) protested against Eltham Juniors for playing senior men. After taking the evidence of Messrs Winks and Poole the Committee deferred consideration of tho protest until next meeting — The protest TEltbam v. Waimate was ateo held over till next meeting.-*-The protest, Okaiawa v. Opunake, was dismissed, but the protest fee was refunded. — The protest, Stratford 11. v. Tukapa IL, was held over till next meeting to allow Tukapa Club to be notified. A letter was received from the New 'Zealand Union requesting the Taranaki Union to nominate players for the New Zealand team. Thetflattef waa lef tto the Selection Committee to deal with. With reference to the Taranaki and Wanganui (combined v. New South Wales match, it was resolved that the N.Z. Rugby Union be requested » to arrange a match with Taranaki alone, as this Union does not feel disposed to with an outside.U nion. - E. O'Carroll was granted a transfer from Stratford to the Star Club; . All applications for reinstatements were refused, and no more reinstatements will be made this year. It was resolved that the Saturday Half-Holiday Club (New Plymouth) be informed that this Union regrets that it is nnable to allow Union members -to play with an unaffiliated team. • The Marlborough Union wrote asking what terms would be granted for a match in Tarauaki. The secretary wa<* instructed to write offering 50 per cent, .of the gross takings. , • , .. The Auckland-Taranaki match Will' be played at New Plymouth on /Thursday, September 19th. The dates of all other representative matches were left to the Executive Committee: '""•-' The Second Juniors will play one more round after the present round is completed, playing every ' week; Inglewood 111. will play Stratford HI. at the end of the season. , .::_.'
