Assists its members by advances to, purchase properties. 2. Enables persons possessed of land to erect buildings thereon. 3. Grants loans on the security of Freehold Properties or on approved Leaseholds. 4. Grants loans to members on the security of their shares. 5. Receives moneys on deposit. No Paid-up or Preferential Shares are issued. The amount of Loan is granted without any deduction (except entrance fees); and provision is made for repa> ing loans at any time without waiting for the maturity of the series. The Society pays the cost of preparing and registering all mortgages (unless for a lesser sum than £100.) During the ten years ending the 30th September, 19'»0, the sum of £9570 9s 8d has been distributed in dividends and bonuses amongst the members of the Society, Borrowers and In vestprs participating alike in the distribution ; it will thus be seen that the Society is purely co-operative. These are exceptionally liberal, and compare favourably with any of the best colonial institutions. There are no deductions of any sort either by way of bonus, comnission, or entrance fees. No Mortgage Deeds to pay for, when the loan is over £100 and not less than three years' duration.
