Potatoes have seen a smart rise. Quotations are as follows: Fresh butter: Factory,ls Id; farmers', 9d; seconds, 8d; prime salt butter, 9d; seconds ,6d; cheese, local, 3d to4£d perlb; factory, 4|d to s£d; eggs, lOd doz; hams (in cloth), 8d to 9d; bacon (in cloth) 5d to 6d; roller flour. £7 rOs ; maize, 2s 4d to 2s 6d (ex wharf); oats, feed, 2s 2d to 2s 3£d (ex wharf); wheat, 2s 6d to 2s lOd; fowl wheat 2s 8d • oatmeal (25'), £10 15s; potatoes, 6s 6d to 7s (ex wharf). Grain, Fodder, &c —Messrs Buckland & Sons report : —Feed oats, ex store, 2s 4d to 2s sd; local duns, 2s 3d; maize, 2s 7d to 2s 8d; barley. 2s 3d; fowl wheat, 2s lOd to 2s lid; chaff, better worth, inferior 35s to 455, good 60s to% 655; carrots, 22s 6d to 255; bran, £4 10s to £4' 15s; maize ex wharf, in short sup ply, 2s 4d for new to 2s 5d 'for old.^ Horse Stock, &c. —Messrs Buckland & Sons report: —Horses: At the Haymarket on, Friday there was good competition for all young and useful classes; aged heavy, draughts, LlB to JL24; young do. up to L 37; light draughts, L2l to L 25; useful hacks and buggy horses, L 8 to Ll4.

Wool, Hides, Skins, &c. — Messrs G. W. Binney & Sons report that they cleard average catalogues of hides, &c. Hides, prime ox, 6f d to 6|d; 'extra stout, sfd to 6d; stout, 5d to s£d; medium, 4fd to 4f d; light, 4d to 4|d; cow, heavy, 4|d to .4Jd; best lines, 3£d to 4d: seconds, 3?d to 3£d ; stags,' 2d to 2|d. calf, 4Jd to sd. Sheepskins: Local average, 2s 3d; country salted, Is sd, for small, to 2s 3d for large. — Messrs Buckland & Sons report : — Ox hides, 4d'to sfd r cow, 3£d to 4sd; calf, 3Jd to 4Jd; kip, 3fd to 3|J per lb; skins made up to 2s 5d each; the ruling prices being from Is 6d to 2s. Tallow, good, 18s to 21s per cwt; rough fat, l^d per lb;- bones, L 5 per ton.

Cattle, Sheep, &c. — Messrs A. Buck land & Sons report that the Remuera yards were fairly welL filled on Thursdoy with stock of all classes : -Dairy cows from L 4 10s to L 7 10s; store cattle -at late values; fat and young calves sold freely; fat cattle sustained last week's quotations, LI to LI 2s the 1001 b for steers and heifers, aged cows 16s to 18s; steers ranged from L 6 10s to L 9 15s; cows, L4to.L7 15s £210 gold). Being a very-wet day sheep "were scarcely up" "to last week's values,' wethers, from 16s to 17s 9d for heavy weights, lighter 13s to 15s; ewes, 10s to ISs; hoggets, 7s to. 13s each (1300 sold). An average muster of pigs sold freely; porkers,, from LI to LI 10s each. — The New Zealand' Loan & Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows: > — Cattle :,' At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday fat stock were in average numbers, but bidding was not characterised by tb« briskness of the previous- week; oxen from 19s to 22s per lOOlbs;' cows,' 17s to 19s; steers, from L 6 12s 6d/to LlO ss; cows, L4ssto L 7 17s 6d. Store and dairy stock in average numbers; dairy cows, from L 4 10s to L 8 2s 6d; empty cbws, L3ssto L 4 Is. • Sheep, with the exception of first quality, showed no improvement; wethers, from 13s to 19s 9d; ewes, 10s 6d to 14s 6d; ewes in lamb, 12s 9d; Hoggets, 6s 3d to 13s. Pigs were in larger numbers than -for many weeks, and met a ready sale; porkers selling at from 19s to Ll 13s.
