The Biograph.

FIRST EXHIBITION.

Mcssk-5 Neilson & Son gave their first Biograph exhibition in the Theatre Royal on Monday night before a largo audience. The animated pictures shown were very good, except for a few slight hitches, which are insep.irablo from a performance in which mechanism is being used for tho first time. The audience were first shown a series of photographs of leading British soldiers in the South African war, then followed a number of animated pictures taken in the campaign, succeeded by some really effective views at the Paris Exhibition, a waterfall scene being especially good. The second part of the entertainment was devoted to animated pictures of the Queen's funeral procession. The exhibition gives a capital conception of what the last tribute of the Nation to tie departed Queen must have been in magnitude and grandeur. • During the evening several phonographic records were given, including an illustrated vocal record. Mr D. Mc> Kinnon Bain presided at the pian*. SECOND ENTERTAINMENT. The proprietors will give a second exhibition to-night, when any slight defects noticeable last night will be absent. The beautiful set of pictures entitled, kt Moonlight on the Lake," the effects being enhanced by the introduction of a vocal quartette from tho phonograph, will be repeated to night. The proprietors have invited the members of the Town Band to be present.
