THE PURSUIT OF DE WET.
A BOLD PLAN FRUSTRATED. Received March 15, 9.17 a.m. London, March 14. — Commandano De Wot, on the 11th March was located betweed Brandford and Elensgevoden. The pursuing columns are '.refitting prior to making another combined movement. Lord Kitchener's and General French's combination-: frustrated Commandants De Wet and Hertzog's attempted dash on £it. Helena Bay to meet a vessel bringing arms and ammunition while General Botha carried oat an invasion of Natal. Colonels De Lisle and Gorringe forestalled Kruitzinger a* Adelaide, 65 milei west of King Williamstown. Kruitzinger turned north. The Boers derailed a train at Wilge River, but a blockhouse in the vicinity prevented 600 Boers for two hours from plundering. Eventually the train was sacked and burned and three British killed. The Boers shot eight natives who were travelling in the train. Reinforcements arriving fifteen Boers were killed and many wounded.
