James Bennett, whom Sergeant Siagpoole described as " a stranger in a strange land," pleaded guilty this (Friday) morning to havirg imbibed too freely on the previous night, and was fined 5s and costs, with the usual option. The Central School Swimming Club wish to thank Mr Hassell for the use of a marquee, Mr Webber for bis boat, the Town Band for their attendance, Mr Heldt for use of crockery, Mrs Pearce for glasses. Messrs Stohr, Hood, Holmes, Cattley and Edgecombe who gave valuable assistance, Mr P. Lealand for boilers, Mr Strauchon two tents, and all those who contributed so liberally in money and contributions towards the refreshments, not forgetting the Board for the use of the Recreation Grounds.
