A SBJililiiS Ot MUMS, JKCi V JbXbOJQO. AN ARMOURED ENGINE DERAILED. Received January 30, 12.25 a m. London, January 26.— Lord Kitchener says the"raidors in Cape Colony have done little harm, are becoming daily more unpopular, and are not being joined by the inhabitants. Major -General Cunningham, in moving from Olifant's Nek southwards, captured seventeen Boers and engaged De la Key's commando at Middlefontein. Colonel Knox attacked Haasbrock's laager, and captured a field cornet, four prisoners, and twenty horses. New Zealand Roughrider Private J. Murphy died of enteric at Kimberley. Private W. G-. Earle, N.Z. Mounted Infantry, was killed at Bronkhurst Spruit. Lord Kitchener and a number of troops proceeded by train on Wednesday in the direction of Middleburg, preceded by an armoured pilot engine, which was derailed by dynamite near Balmoral. When the ttoops arrived a number of Boera opened fire, but were repulsed with loss. There were no British casualties.
