Turf Topics. The stakes paid away over the Wei lington Cup meeting amounted to £4545. The Taranaki winning owners at the Wellington Meeting were : —Mr F. Watson £190 (Okoari and Dartmoor); Mr L. Laurent £140 (Full Cry); Mr J. R. Corrigan, £90 (Oorji Linn). The Fabiatna Meeting is set down for decision on Wednesday and Thursday. For th* first day good acceptances, &c. (already published) have been received. The following penalties have been incurred at the meeting by winners at ; Foxton: Grey Ribbon, 171bs; Conspirer, lOlbs; Illumination, 171bs; Horeoka, lOlbs. Mr Nelson, the veterinary surgeon, was present at the Foxton meeting and informed- me (says a Wellington writer), that Hang Ore 8 death was cause by the bursting of a blood vessel in one of the lungs, the rush of blood from which choked him.
