A meeting of the. Regatta- Committee was held on Saturday evening, Mr Buchanan presiding. Tb,e tender of the City Band to ph\y on Regatta Day was accepted, The Bail way Department wrote notifying the Committee of the train arrangements for the day, which was. considered favourable to intending visitors from the country and New Plymouth, Several replies from those appointed to positions were received. , The following sub-committees were appointed : — Placing buoys, Mr J. Sarten; Works Committee, Messrs Beckbessinger and Telfar; Tournament Committee, Messrs C. Goddard and A. Klenner; Dance Committee, Messrs Mills, Buchanan, and Nosworthy; Handicapper, Mr J. Telfar; selection qf gate--keeper^, Messrs Bu.ch.anan and Telfar; I Prqtest Committee, Messrs Ogle, Sarten, and G. Tate.
The s.s. Mana arrived from Wellington on Sunday, and an early start was made with discharging this (Monday) morning. A good inward and outward cargo was handled before 10 o'clock, and she got away on the morning tide.
