Dredging Notes.
The statement of the affairs of the Hartley and Riley Beach Dredging Company as at the 31st December iast, shows that the company was registered on the 14th of July. 1897; The nominal capital is £7000, the amount of capital subscribed being £6500, while the amount of capital actually paid up in cash is £6300. The capital is divided into 7000 shares, of which 6600 have been allotted, being held by 362 shareholders. At the time of registration there were 73 shareholders. The quantity of gold produced last year was 76920z 3dwt 7gr, valued at £29,766 7s 7d, and the quantity produced since registration was 17,3880z, valued at £67,348. The total expenditure in connection with carrying on operations since registration has been £14.680 10s 3d, and the total amount of dividends paid is £58,032 10s lOd.
