The annual report and balance-sheet showed that the club was >in a sound financial position, and though' the expenses of last season had been unusually heavy there was a substantial balance in hand. The following office -bearers were elect .d: — President, A. Standish, Esq., (reelected) > Vice-Presidents, S. W. Shaw, *Esq., Wm. Bayly, Esq., (re-elected); J. C. George, Esq., and C. F. The bunkers in the extended course are somewhat different from those to which membars have been -accustomed, and it is expected that there will be an increased demand for niblicks, mashies, Bppons, bulgers, and other weird weapons' to overcome the new difficulties. Nine new members were proposed, but as there were insufficient vacancies the question of increasing the membership and of el.o'ing' the new members was referred to the Committee. Tho g^lf championship meeting will be held th s year in Dunedin commencing on May 6:h. • , 'i 1 he Ng.imotu Golf Club has resolved to join the New Zealand Golf Council and thus enable members to take part in tho annual competitions. The noyv rules for golf make an umpire's position no sineoure; fifteen pages of small print will satisfy most players. Wanganui is holdiug a tournament on May 24th and following\days, and as some events are open to members of outside clubs some local players may be attracted.
