THE WAIREKA COLOURS.
TO THE EDITOB.
Sir, —^Vill you kindly give me space in your paper for a few lines re the Yvaireka flags. One of your correspondents wishes them placed in a draper's window, so that tie rising generation may inspect them at Bweet will. "Why, Sir, place them in a draper's window, like a work of art for Sale ? Why not place thsm ift St. Mary"s Church over the hatchments? That is where they ought to be. If old moth-eaten dfllours, which have also seen active service, are good enough to hang ill St. Paul's Cathedral and "Westminster Abbey, surely, Sir, the "Waireka colours are good enough to be placed in St. Mary's Church. I am sure our Waireka veterans are proud enough of them to sec them placed in the Church, and if it were put to the vote between them I fesl certain that they would be placed there. I hope some steps will be taken to place them in St. Mary's, where visitors and everyone can gee them. Thanking you in anticipation. • — I am, &c, A. S. Fj:o?t. .
