Qoietly but steadily electors are recording their votes today. The arrangements at the polling booth in town are working smoothly, thinks to the enorgy of and foresight of the Returniog Officer (Mr T. Rhailer Weston), and his assistants'. Partisans .of Loth sides— political and local option— were industrious in advanoing their respective views. A pleasing feature of the proceedings so far is the good-natured aud orderly behaviour of all concerned.

The results in town should be known about 7 30 o'clock, and the outside polling will, it is expected, ba announced before 9 p.m.

Arrangements have been made by tho propntor of the Herald to have the results from other parts of the colony displayed at tha Theatre Royal he doors.
