The New South. Wales Union baa telegraphed the New Zealand Union to send 17 men to play England in Sydney on August 5; and to assist Australia on the 12 oh. The New Zealand Union, acting on the negative bds ver to tho proposal recently given by the affiliated unious. has determined not to send any team or men.
Fteling over the game occasionally ru'is high in Scotland: After the completion of the football mitch at Greenock for the possession of Renfrowthtre Cup, the supporters of the losing team, the Port Glasgow, rushed the ground, and a general fi^ht began, which lusted more than' two hours A largo force of police fought with bitm*, but nineteen constables were injured, several of them seriously. Mauv of the spectators were also injured. During the riot the shopkeepers olossd their shops. More than thirty of the Port Glasgow men were arrested.
The scores in the Ingle wood- Cli Eton match, played last week, were : -Single* wood 6 (couverted try), Clifton 3 (goal from a free kick). C. Mumhy scored the try, and R. Julian converted. Watson kicked the gaol for Clifton.
