Nominations for all handicaps mutt be in the bands of the Secretary, at the Waitara Hotel, on Thursday, Octobei 13th, not later than 9 p.m., accompanied with the name, age, pedigree, colours, and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Saturday, October 22nd. Acceptances and general entries on Thursday, Octjobei 27th, except for Welter, for acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. . r ; ' ' RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack. — A hack means a horse that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter, and Ponies' Races excepted) f and is not nominated for any race other than Hack race at time of start. Five per cent, will be deducted from the stakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must be clean and well dressed; or will be liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of this rale. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. All horses to be ridden in colours; same to accompany acceptances <nd general entries. No entry or nomination will be received except upon these conditions: — That all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and^lheir deoision upon all points connected with the carrying ont of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by the Rules of Racing. Horsps walking over will only receive 50 per cent of the stakes. The necessary amount in cash must accompany all nominations and acceptances. The Committee reserves the right of postponing the date of meeting, nomina tions, and acceptances, also weights, should they deem it fit to do so.
