TURF ITEMS.
The following totalisator permits will be granted for the 1898-99 season in the Taranaki , district : — Opunake Racing Club, 1 ; Stratford Racing Club, 1 ; Taranaki Jockey Club, 2 ; Egmont Racing Club, 2 ; Patea Racing Club, 1. Aconlerence of Victorian Racing Clubs will be held shortly to promote the introduction of the totalsator.
