"Yesterday mornittg Carter Vis found lying in a dazed condition, the safe containing over £200 having been ransacked. Carter told the police he was aroused early in tho morning by a man entering the room, who struck him a heavy blow on the head and rendered him insensible. Subsequent investigation led to his arrest, and £160 was subsequently found hidden under a heap rtdar the office. BuisBANE, Deceuiber 17. Government has dbtaihed counsel's opinion to the effect that there la rio ground for laying a criminal charge against the directors in connection with the Queensland National Bank revelations.
