DATES OF NOMINATIONS, ACCEPTANCES, AND GENERAL ENTRIES Nominations close at the Commercial Hotel, Waverley, at 8 p.m. on TIIUBSDAY, 7th October, 1897. Weights on Saturday, October 23rd. Acceptances and General Entries up to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 30th October. Telegraph and Post. Offices closes 5 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The winner of the Waverley and Waitotara Cup, Flying Handicap, and Momohaki Stakes, to carry a penalty of 71bs in any other race at this meeting noi cumulative. 2. A hack is a horse that has never won an advertised raca (hack and hunter races excepted) and that js not at time of atari, and has not been during the three calender months previous to the start, nominated for any race (hack and hunter races excepted). 3. All nominaiions must include des} cription, age, pedigree, colours of rider, and name of owner ; horses in all cases to carry the said colours, and also numbered saddle-cloth provided by the Club. 4. AH nominations, with the necessary amount in net cash, must be in the hands of the Secretary at advertised time; postmarks will not be recognised on any pretext whatever. 5 All races to be run under the Wanganui Metropolitan Rules of Racing. 6. No entry will be received for any race except on the distinct condition that any and all claims, disputes, and objec- ! tions which may arise in connection with the racing shall be settled by the Stewards or who they may appoint ; such decision to be final.
