BRITISH LETTER TO THE AMEER.
[per press association.] Calcutta, September 10. — The fanatical } rising among the Mollahs of the Mohammedan section on the Malabar Coast Las boen suopressod with little bloodshed, and the leaders captured. The Indian Government has sent a letter to the Ameer of Afghanistan stating that tho military operations on the Indian frontier arc iutendod as a punishmont to Hadda Mollah and his followers, and it is not proposed to interfere with the independence of the frontier tribes or permanently occupy the territory. Tho Khuns of Nawagi and Manda will assist in Brigadier-General Elles' expedition against the rebellious Mohmands.
