The church is called St. Phillips, and it is to be opened, next Thursday, 19th inst , by the liev F. G. Evans, of New Plymouth. St. Mary's choir is also {loins* to be in tittendauve, and we Tarikicts are looking forward to a good cime. Tho church iUelf is a very pretty building and a credit to tho place. It will neat something like 130 persons, and fcho cost is something like £150. The church organ has arrived, and a very mcii instrument it is. Air Lewin is to h& choirmaster. Tho church boll is on its wny from Dnuedin, ami it will be quite h novelty to us to hoar a church bell ring ou a Sunday, for most of us uevor he.ir one ring once in twelve months. It ib to hoped the people will roll up on Thursday noxt nt the opening, and give liberally towards the building of ■this new church. Great credit is das to Mr Johnson for the workmanlike manner in which be hat carried hit contract through. I think there is to be a concert the same evening, which will be held in tho (Town Hall.
