' Nominations for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretary at the Waitara Hotel on Wednesday, October 13th not later than 9 p.ni., accompanied with the name, »ge, pedigree, colors and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Thursday, ©otobor. 21st. Acceptances and general entries on Wednesday, Ostober 27th, except for Welter, which acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of & Hack. — A hack means & horsu that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter and Ponies Races excppted), and is not nominated for any race other than hack race at time of start. Five per cent, wjll be deducted from tho stakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must ba clean and well dressed) or will bo liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of this rule. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing, as adopted by tho Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. All hor3es to be ridden in colors \ same to accompany Acceptances and General Entries. No entry or nomination will be ra ceived except upon these conditions J that all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards presont, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon ail points conuected with the carrying out of this programme shall be fiaal, except in cases of appeal provided for by tha Rules of Racing. Horses walking over will only receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. The necessary amount in cash must accompany all Nominations and Acceptances.
