STRATFORD NEWS.
» [FROM OUR RESIDENT AGENT.] August, 2.— A Mr Roderick McKonzie has beon ar/estod in Eltham this afternoon, on suspicion of being concerned in tho post office robbery. Ihe lettori, or at least a good part of them, are in possession of the police, having been found yesterday on the roadside between here and Midhirct. Inspector McGovern ia here investigating. Thore seems a need for more precautions against the attentions that gen tierce a of the burgling profession devote to post offices t. railway stations. Bars to the windows, after the style of the bank buildings would make entry more diffcult, and could not electric alarms connected with the telegraph be easily arranged ?
