The Austrian scientific expedition to Solomon Islands, which wns interrupted by tho massacre of Baron Morbnck, will not be abandoned. Dr. Mann hna arrived to take up >lorback'« work, and the cruiser Albatross leaves for the Solomons in a few days. Rydnky, April 20. A terrible murder was committed to-night. Two Swedish seamen Laraen nnd Johnson, belonging to tlie ship Westgate, quarrelled. Lai sen struck Johnson, whereupon the latter seized a razer, and, attacking Larsen, made a fearfnl gash in his throat. The wounded man jumped off the wharf and ran a couple of hundred yards along the strict, then dropped dead. Johnson was. # arrested. Cooktown, April 19. A schooner has arrived from New Guinea with a number of miners fllmosfc all suffering terribly fmm fever and dysentery. During the voyage seven out oF forty died, and another went mad. Most of the men remaining on the fields are sick and dying fast.
