TARIKI.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. | It is very pleasing to notice in this thriving liutle township that people are trying to raise sufficient funds to build a church here, to be used by the Church of England. The cost of it is to be about £100; but I think it will take them all thi>ir tiiue to raiso enough money to start the thing. The site, I believe, has been promised, but lam not certain. We are having religious services her«> in the Town Hall every Sunday. The Church of England minister comes every other Sunday, and the Primitive Methodiit comes in between. So you see, Mr TCditor, we are getting a goad lot of people in Tariki. The weather has been very chaßgeab'e here, with much rain and wind, and santetimes a fine day. Both native and imported game seem to be very plentiful about Tariki this season, and I expect there \vi 1 be a great deal of shooting done when the season commences. I believe some have commenced already, for I h;ive heard guns going off sometimes. I think people ••hould wait until the proper time, and i^ivu e\ory»i'« " slimy.
