London, August 30. -The weather was fine yesterday, but owing to the absence of sunshine the wicket was not so treacherous as expected, In the Australians' second innings Hill and Gregory played splendidly, the latter being at the wickets something like two hours. Trumbie too gave a vigorous display.. Requiring 246 runs to win, Lancashire, who had two wickets down for ten, cut a sorry figure, as the whole team were dismissed for 28, leaving the colonials victors by 217 runs. On the side of the home team Ward was the highest scorer with six. McKibbin again was the destroying element, and only delivered 53 balls, the New South Welshman getting terrible work on from both sides. Kelly, his own townsman, was equally successful to-day, as he Btumped three and caught one. 1 Sugg lost his wicket the first ball. MacLaren was out with the score at 12, Tyldesley at 13, and eight were down for 17. The bowling analysis is : — Trumbie 2 for 12, and McKibbin 7 for 11.
